Our decision to move forward with Seabreeze Homes was around a number of factors one being the tender process establishing a budget for each item of the build to refer to throughout. The Co-Construct app was informative and made for a very smooth build with information at hand at all times. We also were well informed throughout, the Seabreeze team were excellent.

During construction the site supervisor and the trades people were professional and more than welcoming with no question or request too much trouble at any time.The finished product on handover has been more than we could have hoped for and well ahead of schedule. After consultation with our architect and other people who built with sea breeze homes we opted to build with them. We were not disappointed. Peter Wilson, the owner of Seabreeze Homes, met with us and discussed all aspects of our build and answered all our questions.

When I bought land in Casuarina in 2015, I had a good idea of the type of house I wanted to build and looked at the Display Homes and offerings of a number of builders. I was immediately struck by both the thoughtful, elegant design and quality of the Seabreeze Display Home, as well as the fact that it incorporated energy efficiency principles. Throughout the design process I was able to liaise directly with the architect and with the various trades to customise the house to my specifications – this was no one size fits all scenario. The club was put in a difficult situation initially where the design and building estimates came in at double our budget. Our funding included grants from the Federal, State and Local government bodies along with our fund raising and sponsorship.

We had to come up with a plan to cut the initial budget in half while engaging a highly skilled project management team. The end result was to build our clubhouse without losing our funding and still be able to provide our members a high quality facility for our operational needs.

Tony Cannon and Peter Wilson provided us with a budget solution that didn’t compromise the facility; in fact it actually enhanced our project’s design, quality and finishes. It allowed us total transparency with a fixed price contract with no hidden costs.

Under the terms of our contract with the Federal Government we could not incur any additional cost or variations and this was not negotiable. Their ability to finalise pricing, organise and co-ordinate specialised consultants and commence construction within 3 months was a big undertaking and commitment.

If they didn’t achieve these timelines we would have lost over $1 million funding. Peter and Tony’s professional and experienced teams were very reliable with strong and open communication in all facets of the build between the surf club Building committee, associated consultants and Government authorities.

The end result of our club is an extremely high quality build, with great control over costs and the construction management. I would not hesitate recommending Sea breeze homes and Group Cannon for any design and build project.

The committee and members are very happy with the clubhouse and we have had great feedback from the community and other stakeholders.
